Comiquest comic store is located in a newly developed old train station in the centre of Rotterdam. Under the old train tracks a variety of shops, bars, a jazzclub and more opened their doors.

We were responsible for the design of Comiquest, a comic store specialized in american comics, action figures, collectibles and more. We designed this store on a very tight budget and drew inspiration from the unfinished roughness of the building. Using construction site lights for lighting and other elements that are used during construction, like unfinished plywood the interior got a raw atmosphere, which was completely filled up with all the toys, comics and more that the owner had been collecting for years.

We left the space itself almost untouched, we coated the floor and the main wall and filled the cavities between the pillars with shelves to store the huge amount of action figures such as GI Joe, He Man, Ghostbusters etc. Opposite of the shelves are old office cabinets, framed by plywood with space for thousands of comics to browse through, and a big counter with the construction site lamps lighting the comics and counter.
