The end of my internship was nearing and I wanted to do something to show how much I had enjoyed working with everyone. And hopefully leave something behind to remind leadership about me.
The Munny doll (pronounced like “money”) is made by a company called Kid Robot. Everyone on the creative team at Monigle, except for the interns, received the 4 inch tall vinyl Munny doll, except for the two interns. The assignment was to turn the doll into a self-portrait.
My last day was a Friday so I left the Munny doll, my mini me, along with a note on the desk of the executive creative director. He was impressed that I took the initiative to buy the doll and have it completed before everyone else was expected to have theirs done.
Although this did not result in a job offer, I hadn’t expected it to with the multiple interns that were arriving for summer, I know that it made a lasting impression of me and my work ethic.
