Once again, Som Kong was invited to Inland in 2016. With the relationship established from the year before, Makeshift worked with Som to create a more versatile solution: a modular booth built from rods and connectors that could be reused and repurposed throughout the season.

Through charettes and rapid prototyping at the Makeshift space, the team came up with a system of handmade cube joints to be connected by different sized dowels for feet, hangers, and supports. Dowels could be reconfigured and locked into the cube joint (of which Makeshift created over 150) using a fin and a pin. The cube booth has since seen use in multiple events.
