Visualization of Banks Rating Dynamics
Task: with help of visualization on the limited space of one screen find out how changed customers rating of banks from 2005 to 2016.
Figures – average users rating of banks from 2005 to 2016. Each bank in each year received 13 evaluations: one total + 12 for separate activities. Each user put a rating from 0 to 5. Average rating is the sum of all user ratings divided by the number of them.
Visualization is a heat map formed by overlapping linear graphs for each bank. Enlightenments on the heat map show places where there was a wide gap between banks ratings, dark areas – where they were on par. There is a historical minimum and maximum on every heat map. The darker is the area near them, the closer to them was the overall level of banks that year.
Interaction for clarification
There is an opportunity to see a chart for a certain bank on the heat map while hover the prototype. You can also select several banks from the list on the right side for comparison.
Check the prototype made for me by Dmitry Kabak: kabbi.github.io/d3-experiment0/ (not suitable neither for mobile, nor for too large screens :)
Thanks!
