Patricia's Garden - A Magpie's Haven

Patricia's Garden - A Magpie's Haven.

This painting took me an incredible amount of time to finish, it's by far one of my favorite digital paintings I have made so far. This painting is dedicated to my wonderful Grandmother who had the most beautiful garden you could imagine. My whole life was surrounded by roses of all colors, big blooming peonies and gorgeous lilies and hydrangeas. Some of my favorite memories are of her and I working together in her garden. My Grandmother, Patricia, had a great sense of humor. I decided to take a fun spin on the Magpie in her honor, and I gave him a little crown and a monocle. (He's very fancy.)

Most of the flowers shown here were actual flowers found in her garden. I decided to omit the roses, even though thats what I feel she was most recognized for. I wanted to show her in the light I saw her, beautiful, welcoming and entirely unique.

Below is a poster made for a local art show I will be included in this June. This will be the first time the public will see my work like this- so I hope it goes well!
