The images in this post are from two beautiful woodlands (Bowsey and Keele) that always have super carpets of Bluebells- that when fully in bloom herald the start of the best time of year.
The lighting in previous years has never been bright enough to get the halos around the flowers- but luckily the light was really bright in areas and dark in other- allowing me to capture the flaring on the settings I prefer.  Eventhough a lot of the shots were a little blown out- I love the contrast with the darker shots from Keele
On the way out I also shot a dandelion that had managed to self-seed in the top of the wall bordering the woods- which I was going to shoot and combine exposures – but it looked too fake- and I quite like the way the image looked like a dodgy end photos you often got at the end of a 36 roll of 35mm film
All of the shots were fast/ low aperture/ low iso- and I opted for less faffing with mixing exposures and focuses on Photoshop- as the overly-shopped versions didn’t capture the same essence as the original raw shots.

The bluebells are a special time of year, that signifies everything getting better in the run up to Summer- spending more time with my family and getting out and about to break the cycle of working indoors

thanks for looking :-)
