One Call Away

Chalk pastel on toned paper
18" (h) x 24" (w)

One Call Away is a piece I completed in my second quarter for Drawing 101: Composition and Media that acted as an introduction into using colored materials. The purpose of the composition was to grab a series of seemingly random objects and create a narrative still life with them. The objects (chosen by teammates in my class) depicted are as follows: a vintage telephone, a taxidermy cat skull, a red airplane, and a piece of green fabric. The perspective and rendering of the composition was a choice of my own. I found that I really enjoy working with chalk pastel, and I am excited to continue incorporating it into future projects.

Thank you!
