Client: Docklands Cultural Forum Identity
Project: Art Direction & Identity

---------
Working closely with Vermillion Design, this project set out to explore the visual direction and devise an identity system for the newly proposed Docklands Cultural Forum. Once established this would then progress into further phases, which would facilitate this new Brand expanding into other channels and future promotional opportunities.

The Forum wanted to convey how the traditions and culture of the region have always been grounded in the ethos of 'community spirit'. And that the entire area is now progressively looking into the future, where residents, businesses, cultural institutions, and retailers can all embrace and flourish together.

To begin, our Initial ideas were therefore centred around the idea of community, these then progressed into bringing a more maritime feel into the logo, incorporating Joyces 'Anna Livia' as the Liffey's river goddess into the design, brandishing the ceremonial 'cast spear'.

Following on from this, we began to explore the Poolbeg lighthouse as a symbol and water reflections, based on Morse Code which spells out: Docklands.
