This is an interactive machine with the aim to communicate the concept of a particular object: paper clips.
Paper clip has the aim to keep together different things.
Using the same visual language of Bind, the brand of this installation, the user can draw its own pictogram with only straight segments and arcs inside a constrain grid. Then the machine prints the drawn on two acetate sheets. The drawing can be seen when the sheets are brought together, overlaid and clipped: paper clips like object that keep together.
The prototype contains a touchscreen and a printer. The interface was developed with vvvv: this software permits to draw and to save the drawing. When it receives the command to print from Arduino, vvvv sends the file to the printer. This is an actually working prototype.
