Jeju Island
Jeju Island is an internationally popular holiday destination in Korea. It is loved by any Koreans. In recent, it is often voted the most popular place for overseas tourists to visit in Korea. Designers Vaughn Shim and John Han have designed SEOM and PADO with inspirations they got during their travel to Jeju Island.
Pado Lighting
PADO is a Korean word written in English alphabet. It means an ‘wave’ It is a lighting designed by Vaughn Shim and John Han with the gentle waves seen in Hyeopjae Beach in Jeju Island as an inspiration. PADO was designed to express the shapes of wave through simple lines and planes, and it changes its shape in different perspectives.
The matte finish on the surface was intended to deliver the natural feeling of islands. Overall, it was strictly designed considering small details including the bulb cover.
