DESIGN TO THE FUTURE - COMPETION, 2015
CaetanoBUS, Design to the Future competition entry, the main objective was to redesign and reelaborate the interior of the iTRABUS S33 Minibus.
iTRABUS BEFORE
After a first visit to the factory, I could see the current design was too busy. Time to simplify and modernise.
iTRABUS REDESING
Considering it is a production vehicle, the approach had to be cautious, I couldnt do anything too innovative otherwise I’d risk a clash with the engineering department. Every part of the interior was rethinked individually.
In the end, the seat structure was simplified into one single fixed shell, with its adjustmens moving the hidden seat padding and an airliner-inspired visual. The AC/light cluster was simplified in a more harmonious layout, for cleaner looks and smaller costs.
