Insight: It is not uncommon for an Indian family to pull their daughter out of school in rural India. The average rural Indian Parent would rather put their money aside for their daughters dowry than her education. Justifying education as nothing but a waste of time, saying books would suit their sons better than their daughters who’s only purpose in society is to get married.
Solution: Our solution looks at asking the privileged classes to help the families of these girls by making a small donation. This would improve the overall infrastructure in the village school and in the village itself, opening more options which parents can take for their children. Making them understand that an education trumps a dowry. And that an educated girl is more than something you can sell off to a husband to improve your own conditions.
