Il videoclip "Because the night" è costruito su un'unica inquadratura, un primo piano. La scelta registica di servirsi di un piano sequenza deriva dalla circostanza di confrontarsi con la cover strumentale di un brano celeberrimo quale è "Because the night", di Patti Smith. Cosa può aggiungere l'elemento visivo, in tal caso un videoclip, inteso in senso classico, ad una hit che complice il carisma della Smith, ha già lasciato una traccia così potente nella musica rock? La riflessione scaturita da quest'interrogativo ha condotto verso un approccio minimale nella realizzazione del video, in cui il montaggio non profana il brano originale che, inevitabilmente, risuona nella mente dello spettatore, e in cui la protagonista assoluta è l'autrice e interprete della cover, portando così "in primo piano" il vero ed unico elemento di novità: la riscrittura del brano. Sguardo fisso in macchina, mentre il traffico scandisce il tempo, l'artista emerge nello spazio di una parentesi cosciente, mentre la notte progressivamente la avvolge.

Covering such a well know song like "Because the Night" by Patti Smith, led to the decision of producing the video in one long take. What does this aesthetic element add to a renowned hit song that left such a significant mark on rock music history. This minimal approach to the production of the video was carefully considered, by doing so the editing does not overlap the original version of the song echoing in the listeners head: the writer is the only protagonist of the video. That is the true innovative aspect, the re-writing of the song. The fixed gaze towards the camera, the traffic that marks the passing time: the artist emerges in the space while the night progressively shrouds her.
