Hikikomori  is the name given to people who have withdrawn so far into virtual worlds that they can no longer be reached by those around them. A hikkikomori could live over 23 years of seclusion during which he will not leave his room at all. This is a condition that is estimated to affect half a million of Japanese men (39 years old +).
