EMERGENCE is a magazine that focuses on contrasting subjects that are polar opposites, like the notion of yin and yang.

For this issue of EMERGENCE it will showcase the contrast between minimal and excess in Japanese aesthetics. Within these two categories of aesthetics, there are several elements which contribute to its characteristics. For example, the minimal reflects the concept of Zen, while excess often revolves around consumerism. Based on the content of the articles and the visuals, it will reflect the ideas of both.
