10,000 unique moments make up one remarkable mosaic on SAIT campus

When SAIT kicked off its centennial year they needed to capture it in a spectacular way. SAIT encouraged people to share their moments through Instagram and Twitter by tagging #SAIT100 or uploading them directly to our website. They accepted them through email, too.

Today those photos make up one incredible and meaningful mosaic, an eight-foot- by-20- foot installation on SAIT’s main campus. This is the sum of more than 10,000 parts and the capture and curation of 10,000 moments from one incredible year. Each moment is preserved now as a piece of history.

It looks pretty cool in digital form, but it’s well worth the trip to campus to see it in person. Find this amazing piece of history in the Irene Lewis Atrium, Stan Grad Centre.

Below are examples of visual elements that were used to help SAIT's outreach campaign  gather 10,000 photos.
The team started this project a few months before SAIT launched a new logo/brand, so we designed promotional materials twice.
Below is a summary of all creative pieces I designed:
Pre-April 2016
Temporary banner (marking the final home of the installed piece), Student contest materials including posters, ballot boxes, planned Instagram/Twitter content for several months, Student Association website/app graphics, coffee sleeve, campus digital signage, PPT graphics, chocolate wrappers, pop-up banners, website/app launch graphics etc.
Post-April 2016
New temporary banner, employee contest materials including posters, student contest materials including posters, Instagram content, pop-up banners, web graphics. Also photo props for a mobile photo-booth dubbed the "Hashtaggin' waggon'
