Brief: ‘The Dead Wood Archive’
In 754 AD the Byzantine Emperor Constantine V banned the display of religious icons; ecclesiastical dignitaries representing both Eastern and Western branches of Christianity convened at the Seventh Ecumenical council in 787 AD to debate the ban. Split into three sections, the typographic publication Images of the Divine explores events leading up to the council, the eight sessions convened during the council, and the opposing arguments put forward by the rival iconoclasts and iconophiles.
