I started with a simple rough sketch from a reference of Notorious B.I.G 

Created form using the shadows of the face.

Smoothened the skin and omitted parts o the sketch which were unnecessary

Adding the crown and creating the war paint on the face. The war paint is used to represent the east and west rivalry which Biggie Smalls was a major influence in ending. The colours red and blue were chosen because they are the colours used to represent east and west in the NBA which Biggie followed religiously
