This was the first of three projects I completed during my internship at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD. Their Volunteer Services department holds an annual "baby shower" to collect items and money they use to support new mothers in need. 

The design goal of this project was to design a poster that communicated the nature of the event in a professional, yet fun and child centric manner. Several character options were explored. As a parent, and in looking at pictures of my own childhood a theme developed around a fun, friendly, soft lined elephant character. 

The colors were chosen to address both genders, while all the time keeping it died into the hospitals branding. The blue in the elephant is the hospitals branded blue. The background polka dots and blue in the title are tints and shades of the hospitals branded blue. The peach pink was chosen out of several other yellow and pink color options.

A combination of Open Sans and Montserrat typefaces were used to provide an easily legible, friendly, and modern look.
