The Nida Institute Furthers the Work of the American Bible Society

Nadia Cavner is an accomplished financial consultant who leads the Nadia Cavner Group in Springfield, Missouri, as its president. An active philanthropist, Nadia Cavner uses much of her free time to assist various nonprofits. One such group is the American Bible Society, a New York-based organization that strives to make the Bible available and understandable to all people.

In pursuit of its mission, the American Bible Society (ABS) operates several special units dedicated to publishing, distributing, and translating biblical texts. Most of the organization’s translation activities are conducted through the Nida Institute for Biblical Scholarship, which is named after Eugene Nida, who led the ABS’ translation program for nearly 40 years.

In addition to providing translation services, the Nida Institute regularly presents lectures, seminars, and symposia about the Bible and operates educational programs for ministers and pastors as well as biblical scholars and translators. Furthermore, the Institute works in partnership with the Museum of Biblical Art to curate and preserve a rare collection of Bibles and scriptures from around the world.
