A series of images from my Architecture class at Art Center College of Design.
I will be finished with this class on December 13, 2012.
I will be continuing to further my skills in regards to shooting Architecture and interiors however that will be featured as a separate project as I will no longer continue to update this project.
I am open to any assisting jobs as well as digital retouching.

Architecture on its own holds a strong place in my heart. I'm fascinated by finely designed architectural structures and buildings. Whether they are exteriors or interiors, I absolutely love to photograph architecture.
The images below are all self scouted & shot with 4x5 film, either B&W or C-41.
Images shot with the 4x5 camera is also shot with a 90mm lens (A requirement of the class).
Some images are either film or DSLR and have been specified so in the picture caption.
All the images have also been retouched by myself. [I love retouching.]
The images have been cleaned up and/or have had to been reconstructed due to objects/distractions within the environment and/or space.

The vantage point I had accentuated the interesting architectural structure however there were many distractions that surrounded the building. Through digital retouching I photoshopped out the streetlights and signage.

First Assignment: Black and White Architectural Image.

This structure was shot 4x5 color negative and digitally retouched.
My vantage point was the only location to photograph the entire building while maintaining an angle that still captured interesting shadows on the far right side of the building. The left side of the image was blocked by a tree that I was unfortunately unable to chop down.
There was also a tree in front toward my right that would also be in frame, as well as the hideous guard tower and flag poles that took away from the details of the structure.
The image on the right is the final product after retouching.
Note: The color cast is from the scanner's output. The color correction must be fixed in post as the scanner is unable to scan accurately.

2nd Assignment: Color Architectural Image.

This high rise was shot 4x5 color negative and digitally retouched.
The center image was an overall shot. This was the only vantage point I found where I could photograph the entire high rise, as many places did not allow me roof access.
However I noticed there were distractions blocking the entrance which I found distracting as well as taking away from the architecture of the structure.
The image on the far left (cropped) was taken by walking my 4x5 camera toward the edge of my vantage point in order to photograph the entrance to allow for reconstructing.
By using the entrance image I was able to reconstruct the bottom of the high rise.

We were to shoot 2 angles/shots of the interior of the space.

For this assignment we were to shoot an interior and use additional lighting to light the space aside from the practicles. To light this interior, I lit the cabinets separately as well as the individual items within the space. Multiple exposures were done and later digitally combined for this final product.
All styling was done by myself.

7th Assignment: Interior lit by strobes w/ a view.
DSLR Canon 5D Mark ii; 16-35.
This assignment required me to shoot an interior lit with strobes that would also properly expose for a scene outside a window.
To light this interior I used 3 strobes for the space inside and a reflector for the outside furniture.
All styling was done by myself.

8th Assignment: Interior lit with any type of lighting incorporating a figure.
DSLR Canon 5D Mark ii; 16-35.
This assignment required me to shoot an interior that is occupied by a figure. The figure should compliment the scene. I chose to light my space using strobe to create a light and airy space.
To light this interior I used 3 strobes for the space.
All styling was done by myself.

9th Assignment: Interior lit by Tungsten.

For this assignment we were to shoot an interior and use additional lighting to light the space aside from the practicles.
