Su carrera deportiva se extendió por más tres décadas, tiempo en el cual nunca fue desenmascarado.
Protagonizó más 168 filmes en los cuales peleó contra distintos enemigos como extraterrestres o lobo hombres entre otros. Gozó así de gran popularidad durante los años 50 y se convirtió en un símbolo popular debido a su gran sentido humano, además de donar gran parte de los ingresos de sus películas para obras sociales.
Durante toda su carrera especuló sobre su lugar de nacimiento y alrededor de su imagen se acuñó la leyenda que dice:
“El Copo es como el tequila: puede verse suave, pero si te descuidas te tira de un solo golpe”.

He starred in more than 168 films in which he fought against different enemies such as extraterrestrials or wolf men among others. He enjoyed great popularity during the 50s and became a popular symbol due to his great human sense, in addition to donating a large part of the income from his films for social projects.
Throughout his career he speculated on his birthplace and around his image the legend that says:
“El Copo is like tequila: it can look soft, but if you neglect it, you will be shot in one fell swoop”.
