Life of Death 
A narrative audiovisual work in the form of a video game
Abstract
 
Sooner or later the concept of death enters our lives because it is something unavoidable and it is usually met with fear of the unknown. On the contrary life is full of energy and a variety of emotions. Living we gain memories, experiences and even though life can become unpredictable, compared to death we do not fear it as much.
Combining these two concepts, the title “Life of Death” was born, which was the basic idea of this thesis. The goal of this thesis is the transfer of the literary genre of poetry, into a digitally interactive form. This is achieved with an audiovisual display of the written words integrated into a video game environment.
Hence, the main subject revolves around Death, as a physical person and together with this ability, come all of the emotions that people possess together with the judgement of what is right and what is wrong. The implementation of this subject was achieved by combining the genre of digital poetry with video games. This interwoven result falls under the medium of a narrative video game. Such games are characterized by the freedom of the player to explore without any time limits and their unique artistic elements that comprise them.
