This is a series of computational paintings called It is painted in one stroke built from a series of circular arc sections of varying radius and direction on the surface of a torus (a donut) which is then cut and flattened out to for the 2D canvas of the final painting. Each painting is started with a slightly different seed. It then proceeds using a deterministic algorithm, but one that uses a discreet chaotic dynamics. So, it is deterministic, but not predictable. There is no random element here.
These Colouring Time paintings are attempts to paint the way time seems to speed up as we go through life, and how the colour of life changes as we live through different ages, times, places, situations, conditions ... the things that make up full lives.
