Japanese Snack Packaging

ねずみ!
A spoof on Japanese snacks

I took well-known packaging and adapted them into a series with a rat theme. This was a personal project, so beyond simply inserting rodent visuals, I modified logos, re-named characters to create meaningful connections to actual pet rats past and present.
I am not a costume designer, but it bears mentioning here that the designs had a purpose beyond the flat, digital medium. They were printed on satin, sewn with silver fabric, and stuffed to emulate actual packaging. Time had to be set aside for production, so all of the digital design was completed in two days.
The plushie packages were part of a Kyary Pamyu Pamyu cosplay, an homage to her costume in つけますける (originally designed the amazing Kumiko Iijima). Kyary's outfit comprises of a top that's essentially a rodent face. Which is why I chose to adapt the packaging design into a rat-themed series.
