German Brand Award 2016
The German Design Award is a premium prize of the German Design Council. It is awarded annually, during the Ambiente, the consumer goods trade fair. Besides of the winners from the areas of product and communications design, the German Design Award also honours a personality from the design sector, as well as a newcomer designers. The winning products in the field of communications were shown at the exhibition in the Museum of Applied Art (Frankfurt am Main). The objects of the winners in the area of product design were displayed in the Galleria of Messe Frankfurt. Both exhibitions were planned, designed and realised by brandmission on behalf of the German Design Council. Instead of presenting the winning product designs physically/analogue in the Galleria, as in previous years, this year a digital solution was chosen – except for the gold winner. The award-winning protects were projected on a multi-monitor screen at six media stations, arranged in different categories, where visitors could experience them interactively. A lot of prize winners have also used the media stations to take a photo of themselves in a combination of their project.
