Flinders Ranges. 2017.
I moved to Australia two years ago, I've been living and working in the outback desert.
It was such a shock, visually. As an artist, I felt the need of expressing it through pictures. I have been experimenting different ways of painting.
It is a very rugged and rough country so I wanted the painting to feel the same with leaving the brush strokes and paper apparent in opposition to very smooth lines and bright colours.
I used gouache for these paintings. I think it is a very interesting medium because of it's bright, powerful colour range and mat finish.
I am particularly interested in native plants.
My main inspiration were aboriginal artists but also David Hockney's landscape work.
Hope you'll enjoy my work.
thanks for looking
