Jeopardy Magazine 51st Edition

Jeopardy Magazine | Edition 51

Jeopardy is Western Washington University’s annual literary and arts magazine accepting poetry, prose, and a range of visual art mediums from students, faculty, and alumni. As the sole print designer on the publication, I worked closely with the editor and chief to translate her conceptual theme into stunning supporting imagery throughout the publication.

The vision of the book’s theme examined parallels between this 50 year old publication and the rich forests surrounding the area around Bellingham. Ancient and wise, but each year full of new growth. The concept of employing dimensional collage as a design element came from a tendency of the work accepted in the publication to pair small moments or objects or settings in order to examine larger psychological ideas.

The issue also features my expansion on the existing identity of the 51 year old publication, creating the below custom lettering to follow the j that had served as the primary identity mark in the past.
