Projective Test: A Sequence of Associations

Projective Test: A Sequence of Associations
Memory operates in a sequence of associations, the intertwining mental connection between words, images, concepts and opinions. Psychologists utilise these techniques through words association and Rorschach tests to triggering episodic memories. This project utilises abstracted material symbolisms to trigger sub-conscious thoughts, a kin to a Rorschach test.

Slide projectors and disposable cameras are somewhat a representation of memories due to their association with holiday snaps; there is something about dead technology that transports generations back in time. The photographic qualities of a slide projector and disposable camera coupled with the ambiguous stimuli reflected to recreate a Rorschach aesthetic, evokes a sequence of associations.
