PURPOSE It's A Beautiful Life's purpose is to engage the viewers memories, thoughts, and outlook of life.

MESSAGE The overall objective of my project “It’s A Beautiful Life” is to capture small snippets of life moments and the beauty that many of us tend to look pass when we’re in stress and too busy to forget to breath and enjoy the life that we’re living.

PRE-PRODUCTION PHASE In the Pre-Production phase, a proposal explaining the details of the project- ranging from the colors palette, shot types, types of animations, reason of application, etc. was needed before the Production phase could execute.

PROPOSAL

"The overall objective of my project “It’s A Beautiful Life” is to capture small snippets of life moments and the beauty that many of us tend to look pass when we’re in stress and too busy to forget to breath and enjoy the life that we’re living. My project exemplifies creativity and originality through the beautiful, untouched colors and the various locations that are in my video. I did not add a lot of color correction or ‘filters’ because life has no filter. It’s raw and real and beautiful. This led me to pay close attention to capture sceneries that are calming and other times, hectic, in order to convey to the audience that life is always moving, no matter where you are. I chose music that is instrumental because I wanted the viewer to be able to enjoy every scene and shot that was captured as well as be able to think to themselves about their own experiences in life, rather than listening to music with lyrics and take in the words that they hear." - Zena Vue, Producer of It's A Beautiful Life

PRODUCTION PHASE The Reason of Application (Technology Usage) was significantly applied during the Production Phase.

Adobe Prelude CC 2017: Adobe Prelude was used to ingest the footage captured for this project. Bins were utilized to organize the different resolution footage. Two-thirds of the footage was captured in 30fps ; 1920x1080 using a SAMSUNG Galaxy S5; the other One-third of the footage was captured in 25fps ; 320x260.

POST PRODUCTION PHASE In the Pre-Production phase, a proposal explaining the details of the project- ranging from the colors palette, shot types, types of animations, reason of application, etc. was needed before the Production phase could execute.

Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2017: This intricate piece of video editing software was used to put together It's A Beautiful Life. Four sequences were utilized to separate the four songs used in the video. These four sequences were then combined together in one main sequence. The aspect ratio chosen for this Aesthetic Media video is 2.35:1; The resolution is 1920x816.

Adobe After Effects CC 2017: After Effects was used effectively to create full animations and a handful of half animations. There are 3 sets of full animations used in It's A Beautiful Life and a total of # half animations.

Full Animations

1. The first that appears is the Bird Animation, in which two birds are flying across real-live footage. The puppet tool was utilized to animate the wings, in order to make them appear like the two birds are flying.

2. The second to appear is the Couple Hand Animation. A handful of effects were used such as the Turbulent Displacement effect to distort the the outlines of both hands, the Wiggle Displacement tool was used to automatically move both arms around. This was done to make the animation appear as if the two people in which the hands belong to are walking along on the sidewalk. The puppet tool was also used to move the hands along in key frames.

3. The third that appears is the Night Sky animation. This animation also includes a few effects. One the of main effects used was the puppet tool; it was used to move the characters along, making them appear as if they are laughing into the night. The shoulders and the head of the right man were animated; the arm and the head of the left man were animated as well. Shape layers were utilized to create a few glowing stars for the background of the Night Sky Animation, and the Starglow was used to help create the light for the stars.

Adobe Illustrator CC 2017: The graphics for the Night Sky animation, the Bird animation, and the Couple Hand Animation were all created using Adobe Illustrator. For the sidewalk of the Couple Hand animation, the texture effect tool was utilized to create small tiles. The pen tool was used to create the shapes that were necessary to complete each animation such as the arms, hands, grass, and the outlines for the Couple Hand Animation; the shoulders, body, arms, face, hair, star-filled night sky for the Night Sky Animation; and the birds for the Bird Animation.
