Blox by Jugaré

Project made collaboratively focused on creating a new toy experience for kids. My friend and I came with the idea of creating a Didactic Toy centered on the needs and desires of children with motor dissabilities. 
After an intense research and interview phase, we got the insight of designing a complete analogue toy that was attractive for both therapeutic and recreative usage. 

"Blox" is a system integrated of modular blocks, each one with a distinct color code, that will help children to improve their motricity and grip levels. First, the child will build the circuit he or she desires, which also represents an intellectual exercise by analyzing how to put the blocks in order for the little ball to travel the whole circuit.
After that, the kid will add the ball to the system and they will see it roll to the end.

Prototype
The prototype for this project was made with pinewood and cut with a three dimensional CNC process. Eventhough we like the results on pinewood, the production costs were very high. We are looking forward to launch it to the market in a few years time. With that strategy in mind, we will be designing moulds for each one of the pieces and manufacture them with a plastic injection method. Eventually, the unitary cost will decrease, as well as the time consumed of making it.
