Casting Shell Pavilion (Still in Progress)
The focus of this studio will be the design, engineering, and fabrication of a small pavilion for the CCA Backlot to shelter the Casting Area. Due to a donation that the Digital Craft Lab received, the studio has funding to support the material costs of building the pavilion. The structure will help provide needed shelter at the casting area primarily from sun and wind but also rain. This project was designed and built by a team of 14 students.

The studio made heavy use of the Kuka robot to build prototypes and developed parametric workflows that fluidly move between digital and analog space. The primary output of the studio will be the final pavilion, but numerous models, prototypes, drawings, renderings, and other items will be produced by the studio throughout the term.
