Brachistochrone Curve

BRACHISTOCHRONE CURVE
An object moves from A to B under the influence of gravity.
At first we think of a straight line, the shortest distance between two points. Then we think of another factor, acceleration which is also important. Now it seems that the steepest curve is the fastest. We go looking for the ideal ratio between these two factors which is  the brachistochrone curve. The object that moves from point A to B is the fastest via the brachistochrone curve.

The brachistochrone curve has an interesting feature. When the steep and straight curves are replaced by the two other brachistochrone curves and all three objects start from a different distance towards the finish, then the magic happens. All three objects arrive together at the finish.
