The Cycle of Dictatorship - Motion graphics
My final year motion graphics animation feature. I was given a poem by Palestinian poet Tamim El-Barghouti whose work is regularly featured on the AJ+ Arabia Facebook page. Tamim's poems are turned into a weekly animated segment on the Facebook page for fans to see. We were given one of his poems to animated as a one-shot episode similar to those online. We had the freedom to choose between abstract or literal approaches to our animation. I went with the theme of dictatorship (how they rise, fall, and the sense of awakening the people should have.), and was mainly inspired by the style of Russian Constructivism, Samurai Jack, and Batman: The Animated Series.
