Brief: ‘Makers’

This project considers the skill and dedication of craftsmen and makers. A Journalistic approach was taken to underpin a introspective analysis. The aim was to bring light to 

undertaking and the funeral business as this was the career that my father undertook. Looking at the gritty reality of a subject which is so often talked about in hushed terms, this submission aimed to ‘lift the lid’ on the care of the dead. 

All photo's were taken by myself at Central Funeral Services, Falkirk, Scotland. Body copy is taken from multiple sources and written by myself. Hand-bound with Japanese binding. All paper used is G.F Smith, mutiple stocks and weights.
