Merging of Styles
For this project, I was asked to create a ‘Merging of Styles’ poster that showcases two different art styles, while combining visual images and typography.
I choose to merge Art deco and surrealism, two movements I like. In Art deco, I like the repetition of simple and geometrical motives, the typographic style and the tons of colours used.
In surrealism, I like this rebellion, this other world out of the ordinary. People don’t hesitate to break the rules and to let express their unconscious. It gives crazy things, sometimes scary or freaky, and that’s what I like.
