OvertrainingRecovery.com is a website targeted toward athletes that are suffering from Overtraining Syndrome, a condition in which a person pushes themselves too hard by exercising much more than they allow their body to rest. The company is the brainchild of Laura S. Conley, an athlete and personal coach who suffered from Overtraining Syndrome. The main goal of the site is to educate visitors about Overtraining Syndrome through helpful materials such as recipes and recovery tips, as well as having an e-commerce store and the ability to book a consultation.
I worked with the Overtraining Recovery team through every step of the website design and development, from organizing the information architecture to wireframing and mocking up the design to Wordpress theme development. Building out the components of the store and creating the quiz were the two most challenging, and my two favorite, components of the project.
In addition to the website, I also created a few downloadable ebooks, such as "Recipes for Recovery" and "Top 5 Recovery Hacks". My goal for the ebooks was to maintain aesthetic consistency with the website by utilizing strong imagery, clean typography, and a comfortable amount of negative space. The ebooks are also meant to be printed out on standard letter-size paper to be kept conveniently on hand.
