A self directed project, inspired by a brief from Briefbox. The brief is to design three bottle labels for sweet chilli sauce, one 'Sweet and Mild' flavour, one 'Medium' flavour, one 'Hot' flavour. I've chosen to name the brand Fuego: Spanish for 'fire'.
A self directed project, inspired by a brief from Briefbox. The brief is to design three bottle labels for sweet chilli sauce, one 'Sweet and Mild' flavour, one 'Medium' flavour, one 'Hot' flavour. I've chosen to name the brand Fuego: Spanish for 'fire'.
The patterns evolve from the mild to the hot label designs: in the mild example, there are more soft, rounded shapes used, with a floral pattern that implies flavour without heat. As the sauce gets spicier, the shapes become sharper, and skulls begin to replace the flowers. The curled plant-stem decorations begin to develop

The hot sauce was then used to create patterns. I've exprimented with replicating the patterns devised in the label designs using the sauce itself. I then photographed the resulting patterns, and used these to create poster designs to promote the products.
