Vácuo

The Vácuo project reflects on the materiality and form of the sound of space, nonexistent, developing a free graphic representation of them. The objects under study are scientific captions of the electromagnetism present at various points in space by NASA’s Voyager probe, in audio format. In this environment, the sound heard by the human being does not exist, only remaining electromagnetic waves of minimum frequency. These electromagnetic waves when captured are silent, however, they have been increased until they are capable of sound noise. It was on this result that the project was focused. The method used in the sound decoding process was a categorization of four frequency levels: high, low, noise and depth variation. These levels were graphically explored according to their variations and particularities, being perceptible to the reader a visual scale of each sound.
