Cartel of Silence is inspired from Four Cartel in disability activism. Originally, it is found from an article by a Korean human right activist, on how the system of mental institutions is maintained by the silence of four groups, government-institution-family-citizen. To reflect the context of U.S. I changed the format as police-bystander-doctor-charity.
The installation was taken at BFA 2017 Show in Sullivan Galleries. The texts symbolizing the four cartels were floating around the exhibition area in the north part of the gallery space.
