Woodlands Swim Team - Athletic Branding

Woodlands Swim Team - Logo, Environmental Design, Apparel
Woodlands is a community swim team located in Walnut Creek, CA that I was a member of from age 6 through 18. I decided to rebrand the team because it was always something I thought the team needed while I was a swimmer.

Woodlands has a history of using both trees and frogs as logos and I decided to focus on the trees since it is more traditional. However, I did include an alternate logo incorporating the frog. Lastly, Woodlands places a W on the hill above the pool every July so I decided to create the W in the shape of the hill.

From there, I used the logo and its iterations to brand the team suits, towels, and apparel. I also wanted to show what branding the walls around the pool would do to contribute to the spirit of the team and the environment. By not only using the logos and wordmark but also using a picture of the swimmers cheering, the wall branding gives the athletes a sense of involvement and pride in their team.

The execution of this project is not for profit, this is a school project (UC Berkeley Ext.) that was assigned in order for me to develop design skills in terms of re–branding.
