This is a poster made for the Gateway National Reservation Area. Using Adobe Illustrator, French Paper Co. paper, and vinyl, the poster was created. Inspiration for this poster came form Gateway itself, which is where the ferris wheel, lighthouse and birds were found. The style of the poster was inspired by Scotty Russel and traditional style tattoos. The target audience are those attending the Typehike National Shore Exhibit. These individuals expect to see posters which clearly represent a national shore while using type to aid in representing the shore. This solution meets all of their criteria. The poster was made by first sketching an initial image; that image was then taken into illustrator where it became vectorized. To complete the poster, the image was then cut out of silver vinyl and placed atop a navy blue sheet of paper.
