I decided to play with some dynamics in Cinema 4D and it quickly escalated to this. Started the track from the bottom up as it was easier to scale and add new bits this way. The sleeve soft body took the longest to calculate. I have spent more time calculating dynamics than texturing and modeling the scene. I learned that it's a good idea in this case to shape the track to the sphere's movement than the other way around. Everything was exported using .exr files (30mb each) and composited and graded in After Effects. Read Less

Hoop!
"It's just a quick test!"
It was supposed to be just a loop. Ended up being a 3 days project.
I've spent more time doing dynamics sims than texturing or modeling,
since I kept changing my mind about how the wood track should flow.

Done in Cinema 4D and rendered in Arnold.
