The concept of Re_Sculpture_It is to rebuild the environment to fit the sculpture that was previously independent of the original site. The method that we used was to decode the color on the textures on the sculpture and move each categoried groups together and resculpture. By doing so, we create containing environment that would suit the sculpture better.
The existing project of the land restoration of an old quarry in the Municipality of Glyfada, comes as a wedge at a wonderful slope of Imittos, at the location Aixoni, in Glyfada, Athens, the SCULPTED THEATRE OF AIXONI, which created in 1984 by Nella Golanda, Landscape Sculptress.
The development of the sculpture was made in such a way which is characterized by rocks of excellent arrangement and colors (white, light grey, dark grey and brown).
This “experimental vessel” (Golanda 1996) where new forms be developed, is the project of apomechanes workshop 2016.
Our main design intention is to create new qualities, which intellect with the current natural environment. We intervene on the hill in order to create a new artificial environment for the sculpture, in other words to redefine a new relationship between the sculpture and its background.
Starting with the fragmentation of the existing sculpture and also taking reference of its axes, edges and patterns [recognizing 4 colors], we extend the design lines of it [defining 4 different ways] to create a new geometry. As final result, a new atmosphere is created and a new dynamic perspective is also offered to the whole area.
