Project of Gasometri - Venice

The object proposed for the workshop is the former industrial area of San Francesco della Vigna, now dismantled, occupied by workshops and storage facilities (gas meters) and gas distribution. The site is next to the Campo di San Francesco della Vigna, whose facade was conceived by Andrea Palladio.
The site, built in 1890, now orphaned for its original function, is a permanent industrial niche in the historic city of Venice. The contrast between the artifacts of industrial origin and the church of San Francesco della Vigna bordering is emphasized by the intimacy of the garden that contributes to the exceptional dramaturgy of the place.
The project, welcomes a hotel with about 100 rooms. The hotel is designed to offer very comfortable and at the same time compact rooms to foster common living spaces and to encourage guests to meet and to open.
