Concept & Business System for Unmasc

Unmask is a concept for a high end gender neutral line of bath products. Similar to Lush it offers high quality bath products that allow it's consumers to enjoy relaxation treatments in the comfort of their own home.

I worked on this project with a team of three other designers—Bee Bass, Jessica Martinelli, and Christian Bank. Together, we built a concept around bath products that are inclusive to all. The project included a full research phase in which we identified our competitors, audience, and the current market trends. After research we conceived the name unmasc as to pay homage to the act of unmasking your worries and shedding yourself of the daily stressors that come with life. We took inspiration from the word masculine by ending the company name with a c instead of a k as to emphasize that bath products can be masculine and to shed the stereotype of the word masculine.

The task of the project was to create a business concept that has meaning and to build a visual system and brand around that concept, but deliverables and products were not in the scope of work.

Christian designed the logo, Bee and Jessica generated the content and layout of a research and concept book, and I designed the business system, while we together collaborated on the concept and business plan and worked together to find the best possible solution. Our team was very successful in creating a strong concept that really allows for the heart of the company to shine through.
