Nami
Although I already had a generalized idea of what a Chemigram was, I found out a new facet of it in this work.
By observing how the chemicals acted on the paper, it came to my mind the idea of being me drawing my images, making a connection between Photography and Painting. I inspired myself in the Japanese woodblock prints "Ukiyo-e" of Katsushika Hokusai, which showed us fabulous paintings of giant waves in an agitated sea, as exemplified in his famous painting "The Great Wave of Kanagawa".
All of my images were drawn, or we could say "painted", with a brush and chemicals, although not eveything was planned and some surprises happened during the process of making the images. According to paper, chemical, exposure to light or time that the paper was submerged in the chemical, new effects as colors emerged, forming unique images.
