Unlike the previous Sinulog Blastoff events, with 2014, we decided on having slightly different promotional images for social media outlets, specifically Instagram and Facebook. The Instagram version was pretty straight forward as it would always be square and within at least 640x640px in dimension. The Facebook cover photo version was more fun to work with as even though cover photos display by 851x315px in dimension, clicking on the image will show it in it's entirety. I used this to our advantage by having the basic information within the 851x315px fold and all the other details down below.
Near the end of the project, Sonic Boom PH decided they wanted to produce merch along with the event. As we didn't have enough time to work on new illustrations specifically for this, we had to use the one originally intended for the marketing collaterals. This was a little tricky as that original illustration consisted of roughly 14 colors which is too much for spot-color printing . I was able to reduce it to a 7-color print while retaining the quality.
