Presenta - an editorial comic series

Whoop! - for a fistful of bananas

Amianto Comics is a cultural association that create/publish/support comics. Their main magazine is "Amianto" (here you can see the behind the scene of logo creation and the visual graphic work on number 02).

For this project I had to design the cover of the editorial comic series "amianto comics Presenta" (that is a series of one-shot graphic novels realised in collaboration with young comics artists).

The goal was to create something you can recognise at first look and to give a common trait at all the numbers of the editorial series.

After trying with different layouts I started to consider the name PRESENTA (in english: "to show"; mostrare), so I started to work with frames, simple geometric forms (like the frame of a painting and, at the same time, like the divisions inside a comic book page).

Here is the logo, inside a rectangular form/square, and the 5 colors of the editorial series (they change as the appeal of the story change; Whoop!, for example, is an action comic and his color is red).

And here is the cover study, starting from simple sketches.

(n.b.: there is no need to insert issue number on the cover, like in book novel series).

For the visual graphic I tried to recall Amianto 02 and at the same time to play with the main theme of monkeys. Hope you like it.

p.s.: the cover art and character studies are from the drawer of the comics ("il formichiere Bischeri"); other graphic artworks are mine, realised with photo-composing, vectors and digital drawing.
