Process Visualization Explaination

My process visualization is the project I had the hardest time getting started on. I think it was also the unit I struggled with most. While I enjoyed reading most of Roam, I found that the concepts introduced in his book did not stay with me as well as say, the content in Robin Williams's book. It's very possible that this is because I do not generally think in this way. I consider myself to be a pretty creative and visual person, but nevertheless, I tend to move towards writing things out instead of visualizing them. I am definitely partial to quick bullet points, for example, than thinking through SQVID. Even getting used to this way of thinking is something that will take me much more than one project, much less an expert.

I ended up making three different graphs for my process visualization and inserted them into an Adobe Spark video. It was the first time I had used Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Spark, so one of my favorite parts of this project was being able to use and discover the tools within these programs. Adobe Illustrator has since become one of my favorite softwares to create As my first foray into the program, I think it is probably a bit noticeable when looking at the graphs I made, but overall I do really like what I came up with.

I think my audience with this project is a bit more broad than some of the others I created for this class. In my imagination, this video would be spread on Facebook. So really, it just has a general audience of "people on social media," with a more specific one of being informed younger people. Its goal is really just to inform people of the relationships between the media and the news more so than being specifically about fake news like my other works in this class.

In my revised version, I did not make very many changes, as I was quite happy with the original versions I had created. My changes revolved around editing my Adobe Spark video in order to make a few more slides with a full view of my graphs. A complaint was that it was hard to see and read my graphs with the little amount of time that I provided on the Spark video. My edits aim to fix this issue. Now, viewers should be able to see the video and analyze the graphs more easily than they were before. I also made sure that the graphics were not cut off, as some were in the previous version.

I feel like there is more I could have done with Adobe Spark. As it is, I feel like it's an easy-to-use application but creating something beyond the template Spark gives seems...difficult. I haven't been able to figure out how to modify these templates and go beyond what is simply given to me. Spark is something I need (and plan) to use more with future projects, so I look forward to seeing what I can create once I get used it more.
